Acadian Archives Genealogy Workshop
…What did it mean to have a child “ondoyé”? What was “prohibited time”? Understanding such terms can help shed new light on the lives of our ancestors. Archives staff will provide an introduction to these records, including where to find and how to decipher them. Staff will be available to answer questions and the challenges that researchers may face. “Genealogy workshops have become one of our most popular series,” states Patrick Lacroix, the director of the Acadian Archives. “It is an opportunity to learn and share questions in a welcoming and relaxed setting.” The event will be free and open to the community, but participants are encouraged to register ahead of time to ensure there is space for all. To sign up and for more information, please contact the Archives at (207) 834-7535 during regular business hours or at acadian@maine.edu mailto:acadian@maine.edu .
