Libra Distinguished Lecture Series: Morgan Talty

His talk is titled “We Are Made of Place.” In this talk, drawing on his bestselling books “Night of the Living Rez” and “Fire Exit,” Talty will explore what it means to write a landscape that has always been speaking, rather than pretend he is the one in charge of it. His talk serves as the keynote address for UMPI’s biennial writers symposium Voices in the North Country, beginning at 1:30 p.m. on Oct. 15 in the MPR. A public reception will be held in the MPR at 5:30 p.m. Talty will sign and Neighborhood Books will sell copies of his books during the reception. This event is free and open to the public.
